BNI Reports Internal Probe Into Jember KUR Misallocation

Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) said its investigation into alleged irregularities in the distribution of the People's Business Credit (KUR) program in Jember, East Java, began after the bank filed an internal report with law‑enforcement agencies in 2024. Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that BNI has cooperated fully with investigators, conducted its own internal audit, and taken disciplinary action against staff found to have breached procedures. The bank reiterated a zero‑tolerance stance toward fraud and emphasized that any internal or external violations will be pursued under the law. The case concerns a reported state loss of roughly Rp12.5 billion.
