Bob Brown completes 4,500 km scooter journey across Australia
Bob Brown, a 57-year-old adventurer from Cornwall, England, has completed a 4,506-kilometer journey across Australia on a traditional non-electric scooter. Traveling from Perth in the west to Sydney in the east, Brown aims to secure two Guinness World Records: becoming the fastest person to cross Australia by scooter and the first person to traverse the same route via three different methods—running, cycling, and scootering.
This expedition also served a charitable purpose, with Brown seeking to raise £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, St Luke’s Hospice, and Children’s Hospice South West. Additionally, he intended to encourage young people to spend more time in nature and less time on electronic devices.
The journey was marked by several difficulties, including a near-accident on the fifth day involving a passing vehicle and a broken scooter handlebar just 20 kilometers from the finish line on the final day.
