Bobbio, Italy sees guided monastery tours and revived film festival this August
Guided tours of the historic San Colombano monastery in Bobbio are returning for a final summer date. Visitors can join a daytime walk at 15:00 or a special night tour that includes the abbey, its medieval scriptorium, the cathedral and the Ponte del Diavolo, with tickets priced around €15‑€20 and free entry for children under 14.
The Bobbio Film Festival also reopens from early August through 9 August in the Chiostro di San Colombano. Founded in 1995 by local director Marco Bellocchio, the event features open‑air screenings, live discussions with filmmakers, and the “Fare Cinema” training courses for emerging talent.
Both events aim to attract locals and tourists to the historic town, highlighting its medieval heritage and contemporary cultural life.
