Italian heritage tours and festivals 2026

In early August 2026, the historic San Colombano monastery in Bobbio reopened its guided daytime and night tours, offering visitors access to the abbey, medieval scriptorium, cathedral and the Ponte del Diavolo. The town also revived the Bobbio Film Festival, running from early August through 9 August with open‑air screenings, filmmaker discussions and training courses for emerging talent.

Later in August, the municipality of Mondolfo and the Archeoclub of Italy organized a free night‑time visit to the millennium‑old San Gervasio Abbey on 4 August, coinciding with the abbey’s centennial designation as a National Monument and featuring a talk on painter Camillo Paciero. From 1 August to 23 August, the Confraternity of Sant'Antonio Abate in Roburent hosted the photography exhibition “Le montagne incantate” by architect‑photographer Marco Botto, showcasing black‑and‑white and colour images of the Alpine landscape.
