Bodossakeio Hospital to host 27M euro cancer management center

The Bodossakeio General Hospital of Ptolemaida will host a new Holistic Cancer Management Center following an official invitation issued by the Greek Ministries of Health and National Economy and Finance. The project, valued at 27 million euros, is funded through the Special Just Transition Program as part of the National Development Program 2026-2030.

Key infrastructure developments include the construction of a 1,500 square meter ground-floor Radiotherapy Center, which will house a PET-SCAN imaging machine. Additionally, the Radiology Department will be expanded by 150 square meters to accommodate a high-power 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner.

The initiative aims to provide comprehensive oncological services to the Western Macedonia region and reduce the patient load on other major hospitals in Northern Greece.
