Bogor Police evacuate crew member held hostage by Somali pirates

The Bogor Police Resort (Polres Bogor) has conducted a medical evacuation for Piki Mutakim, a 25-year-old crew member of the cargo ship MT Honour 25, following his ordeal as a hostage of Somali pirates.

On Friday night, October 9, 2026, police led by Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto coordinated the evacuation from Mutakim’s residence in Tenjo, Bogor Regency. A medical team from the SiDokkes unit performed assessments of both his physical health and psychological state. The evaluation determined that Mutakim requires intensive care and deep post-traumatic rehabilitation due to the severe psychological impact of his captivity.

Mutakim was transported via ambulance to the RS Said Sukanto Bhayangkara Hospital (RS Polri Kramat Jati) in East Jakarta to receive specialized observation and treatment through the National Police Medical and Health Section (Pusdokkes Polri).
