Bogotá authorizes night road closures for Enel power line work
The Bogotá District Mobility Secretariat (SDM) approved a contingency plan to close the exclusive TransMilenio lane and restrict two mixed‑traffic lanes on the northbound Autopista Norte. The closures enable Enel Colombia crews to dismantle and lift high‑voltage power poles between Calle 183 and Calle 191.
The night‑time restriction runs from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., beginning 4 June 2026 and lasting roughly one month in the Usaquén locality. Work will pause for the festive weekend of 12‑15 June, when all lanes will reopen. Drivers are advised to use three lanes between 10 p.m. and midnight, then two lanes after midnight, while TransMilenio articulated buses will use the western mixed‑traffic lane.
The plan coincides with other major infrastructure projects, including Metro foundations on Avenida Caracas and the newly opened Avenida Laureano Gómez, which together aim to improve traffic flow in northern Bogotá.
