Bogotá celebrates Urban Art Day in Suba with community murals

Bogotá celebrated Urban Art Day in the Suba locality, featuring 16 mural interventions co-created by artists and local residents. Organized by the Museo Abierto de Bogotá (MAB), the project aimed to integrate community social dynamics into public spaces, addressing themes such as Muisca knowledge, neighborhood history, water conservation, mental health, and community resilience.

The murals are located in strategic areas including El Mirador, Puente de la Vida, and La Campiña. The festivities included a bicycle tour connecting the intervention sites, concluding at the Diego Felipe Becerra Bridge. During the event, the ‘III Museo Abierto de Bogotá – Diego Felipe Becerra Lizarazo Prize’ was awarded to recognize outstanding mural interventions.
