Bogotá health department launches October 2025 mass vaccination drive

The Secretaría Distrital de Salud (SDS) in Bogotá has announced a citywide vaccination campaign scheduled for October 2025. Residents can attend any of the designated vaccination points from 8:00 a.m. without needing an appointment; they only need to present a valid ID, and the SDS recommends bringing a vaccination card to record the dose.

The campaign offers vaccines against a range of diseases, including smallpox, poliomyelitis, measles, human papillomavirus (HPV), diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), tetanus and hepatitis B. The SDS emphasizes that vaccination is essential to protect public health and prevent outbreaks, noting past successes such as the global eradication of smallpox and a 99 % reduction in polio cases.

Information on the nearest vaccination sites is available online, allowing citizens to plan their visit in advance. The drive aims to ensure the community maintains immunity and reduces the spread of dangerous viruses.
