Latin American health agencies roll out expanded vaccination drives, from Chile's measles push to Argentine mobile units

Chile's Ministry of Health launched the "Chile contra el Sarampión" campaign in the Coquimbo region, targeting more than 5,000 children aged 1 and 3 who have missed measles doses. Officials said 1,081 children lack any measles vaccine and 4,298 have only the first dose, prompting phone outreach and school‑based checks.

In Argentina, the Hospital of El Potrillo conducted a mobile immunisation operation in the La Paz and Mancilla neighbourhoods of Formosa, delivering 60 free doses of vaccines from the national schedule to residents of all ages, with a special focus on the seasonal flu vaccine. The municipal government of Paraná opened a new central‑city vaccination point to improve access for neighbourhood residents and people experiencing homelessness.

Mexico's State Health Department scheduled a three‑day vaccination fair (July 10‑12) in Ciudad Juárez shopping centres, offering measles, pneumococcal, hepatitis A/B, rotavirus, HPV and Td‑pa vaccines, among others, to increase coverage among vulnerable groups.

Additional local actions include Bogotá’s intensified immunisation campaign, Peru’s Lince district opening its first municipal vaccination centre providing the full national schedule, and Bolivia’s health ministry urging travelers to ensure routine childhood vaccinations before trips abroad.
