Bogotá hosts international art triennial and heritage forum

The Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá has been selected as one of seven global venues for the inaugural ART CUT ’26, the International Art Triennial of Catholic Universities. Under the theme ‘Exercises of Empathy,’ the event connects Bogotá with cities including Rio de Janeiro, Santiago, Boston, Milan, Lisbon, and Luanda. The local exhibition, titled ‘Exercises of Empathy: Interior Exit,’ will feature 13 interdisciplinary works including photography, video installations, and performance, running from September 9 to October 20, 2026.

Additionally, the Instituto Distrital de Patrimonio Cultural (IDPC) will host the ‘Memory that Builds the Future’ Forum at the Universidad Javeriana on September 29 and 30. This forum aims to address challenges in heritage management, sustainability, and urban planning. Discussions will cover the relationship between heritage and territorial management, technological innovation in heritage protection, and the preservation of intangible cultural heritage as the city looks toward its 500th anniversary in 2038.
