Bogotá launches virtual pre‑adoption platform for EXPOPET 2026 animal fair

The Bogotá District Institute for Animal Protection and Welfare (IDPYBA) introduced an online pre‑adoption platform to speed up the process of adopting dogs and cats at the upcoming EXPOPET 2026 fair. The tool lets prospective adopters complete a 16‑question form, upload identification and home‑viewing evidence, after which specialists evaluate candidates in advance. The fair, scheduled for 13‑17 August at Corferias, will feature 101 rescued animals ready for adoption. Approved families can meet the pets early, finalize adoption on‑site, and receive free entry plus veterinary and adaptation services. All animals are sterilised, de‑wormed and receive veterinary follow‑up at no cost, with the institute aiming for every animal to find a home during the event.
