Bogotá Metro construction exceeds 80% completion

Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán announced that construction of the first line of the Bogotá Metro has passed the 80% completion mark. The elevated viaduct now has 16 of its 24 kilometres built, representing two‑thirds of the structure, and 8 kilometres of railway tracks have been installed on the viaduct and are ready for testing. The milestone moves the project into its final testing phase and is presented as a major step toward delivering the city’s first metropolitan rail service.
