Bogotá hosts free dance, park cleanup and mass reading events in public spaces

On July 17 the Chapinero district of Bogotá offered a free day of dance and music performances, part of the municipal cultural program aimed at bringing the arts to public spaces and encouraging community participation.

Earlier, on July 10, the Chapinero mayor’s office coordinated a comprehensive beautification of Parque Marconi in the Quinta Camacho neighbourhood, restoring 403 m² of public space, planting gardens, and removing 1.8 m³ of waste with help from the Botanical Garden, police and local residents.

Separately, the BibloRed library network organised an open‑air reading event near the Virgilio Barco Public Library, attracting roughly a thousand participants who enjoyed literature stations, music, and creative activities, showcasing the city’s effort to promote reading and cultural life in parks.
