Flybondi suspends all flights as financial crisis deepens

Argentina's low‑cost carrier Flybondi has halted all commercial operations since 2 July 2026, leaving the skies empty for more than ten days. The last passenger flight landed on 1 July, and the airline continues to market tickets despite the suspension.

The shutdown stems from a combination of contract disputes over ACMI leasing, unpaid navigation and airport fees, and a fuel supply cut by state oil firm YPF after missed payments. Internally, the company announced staff suspensions through September and faces debts of roughly US$ 25 million to lessors, multiple lawsuits, and a pending bankruptcy filing. Management turnover includes the resignation of CEO Paz Lovisolo.

Regulatory bodies such as the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) have intensified inspections and imposed fines, while the Argentine government monitors the situation but has not yet taken formal action. The crisis has affected over 350 000 passengers, canceled more than 125 flights in a week, and reduced the active fleet from 19 aircraft to just a handful.
