Bogotá's Venecia Bridges Near Full Completion
The Venecia bridges in Bogotá have reached 96.71% of construction progress, with the concrete deck for the entire bridge deck already poured using over 4,150 m³ of concrete. Director of the city's Department of Infrastructure (IDU), Orlando Molano, said static load tests will begin in the coming days to verify safety before the bridges open to traffic.
Molano announced that the parallel southbound lanes will be opened by late August, improving traffic flow from the western suburbs through the Venecia neighborhood and onto Avenue 68. He added that the north‑west connection is expected by November‑December, followed by paving, lighting, and signage work to complete the first level of the corridor in 2027.
