Bojovník film enters cinemas following high-budget MMA production
The MMA-themed film ‘Bojovník’, directed by Vojtěch Frič and Tomáš Dianiška, is entering cinemas in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. With a budget of approximately 70 million CZK, the production collaborated with the MMA organization Oktagon to ensure authenticity, filming scenes in major venues like the O2 Arena and Eden Stadium.
The story follows Pavel ‘Hoff’ Hoffmeister, played by Milan Ondrík, a former boxing champion attempting a comeback in the world of MMA while struggling to repair his personal relationships. Ondrík described the intense physical and emotional demands of the role, noting that he often reached his limits during the long filming days.
The film features several real-life MMA stars, including David Kozma, Karlos Vémola, and Jiří Procházka. Its release follows a premiere at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and a large-scale preview in Ostrava. The soundtrack includes a collaboration between Pam Rabbit and the Slovak rapper Separ.
