Bolivia: AI-manipulated image falsely links Amilcar Barral to Fernando Cerimedo

A manipulated image falsely claiming that Amilcar Barral works for Fernando Cerimedo has been circulating on TikTok and Facebook. The image was designed to look like a post from the news outlet Red Uno, but the media organization has confirmed it did not publish such content.

Verification tools, including Hive Moderation and OpenAI’s SynthID, indicated a 90 percent probability that the image was generated or heavily edited using artificial intelligence. The montage combined separate social media photos of Barral and Cerimedo to create a false association between the two individuals.
