Overview

In late August 2026, fact-checkers identified a viral photograph as an AI-generated fake. The image, which circulated on Facebook and TikTok, falsely depicted Fernando Cerimedo alongside Bolivian deputy Claudia Bilbao. By early September, further instances of AI-manipulated imagery emerged on social media.
