A mining couple was the victim of an armed robbery in the Jatitampampa area of El Alto, Bolivia, on August 26, 2026. The victims were lured to a remote vacant lot under the guise of purchasing a compressor.
Between six and eight armed individuals intercepted the couple and their child, using firearms to subdue them. The attackers stole 180,000 bolivianos in cash and the family's vehicle. The male victim sustained head injuries from a blunt object and was treated at a clinic, while the woman and child also required medical attention.
