Bolivia repatriates four victims of São Paulo building collapse

Four Bolivian citizens who died following a building collapse in São Paulo, Brazil, are being repatriated to Bolivia this Saturday, September 19. The remains of María Elena Ramírez Titicayo, Edelmira Titicayo Limachi, Sergio Titicayo Limachi, and Brayan Gery Gutiérrez Valero will arrive in Cochabamba via a Boliviana de Aviación (BoA) flight at approximately 16:10. Two of the deceased will subsequently be transferred to Oruro on Sunday.

The fatal accident occurred on September 12 around 02:00, when an 11-story construction site collapsed onto a neighboring residence on Tequici Street. The incident affected eight Bolivian nationals residing in the building, which also housed a sewing workshop.

A fifth victim, an 11-year-old girl, will remain in Brazil for burial. Her father, who holds Brazilian nationality, formally requested this through the consulate to remain in the country to care for his 5-year-old daughter, who was injured in the collapse and remains under medical supervision. The Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the repatriation process was completed in record time.
