Bolivian casualties in São Paulo building collapse

Overview

Following an 11-story building collapse in São Paulo, Brazil, on September 12, the Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated the repatriation of four Bolivian citizens who died in the accident. The collapse occurred on Tequici Street, impacting a residence and a sewing workshop.

The deceased, identified as María Elena Ramírez Titicayo, Edelmira Titicayo Limachi, Sergio Titicayo Limachi, and Brayan Gery Gutiérrez Valero, arrived at Jorge Wilstermann Airport in Cochabamba on September 19. Two individuals were scheduled for burial in Cochabamba, while the others were transferred to Oruro.

A fifth victim, an 11-year-old girl with Brazilian nationality, remained in Brazil for burial at the request of her father. The father also stayed in Brazil to care for his 5-year-old daughter, who survived the collapse with injuries. The repatriation process involved cooperation between the Bolivian Consulate in São Paulo and Brazilian authorities to manage legal documentation and sanitary inspections.
