Bolivia repatriates victims of Sao Paulo building collapse

The Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has completed the repatriation of four Bolivian citizens who died following a construction building collapse in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The remains arrived at Jorge Wilstermann Airport in Cochabamba on Saturday, September 19.

The victims have been identified as María Elena Ramírez Titicayo, Edelmira Titicayo Limachi, Sergio Titicayo Limachi, and Brayan Gery Gutiérrez Valero. Two of the bodies will remain in Cochabamba, while the other two will be transferred to Oruro for burial.

A fifth victim, an 11-year-old girl, will remain in Brazil for burial due to her Brazilian nationality, per her father's decision. The father is also staying in Brazil to accompany his 5-year-old daughter, who survived the incident but sustained injuries.

The repatriation process involved coordination between the Bolivian Consulate in Sao Paulo and Brazilian authorities to expedite legal documentation, including death certificates and sanitary inspections. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that consular assistance included medical follow-ups for survivors and logistical support for the families.
