Fernando Cerimedo charged with attempted femicide in Bolivia

Fernando Cerimedo, an Argentine political consultant and former advisor to Javier Milei, has been charged with attempted femicide by Bolivian authorities. The charge follows a violent shooting in Santa Cruz de la Sierra targeting his former partner, lawyer Nadia Beller.

Beller, who is four months pregnant, was struck by three 9mm bullets during an attack at a hotel entrance. She is currently receiving medical treatment and has expressed fear for her safety, alleging that Cerimedo orchestrated the ambush. Cerimedo was apprehended at Viru Viru airport while attempting to flee to Argentina.

During her recovery, Beller made several claims regarding Cerimedo’s past discussions about the Argentine government. She stated that Cerimedo had previously alleged that Karina Milei was involved in corruption.

Bolivian prosecutors have ordered Cerimedo's continued detention, citing a significant flight risk. The investigation is ongoing to determine if other individuals were involved in the planning of the attack.
