Bolivia's CIFABOL urges urgent restoration of Agemed's digital platform
The Bolivian Chamber of the Pharmaceutical Industry (CIFABOL) issued a public statement demanding immediate measures to repair the Agemed digital transaction platform, which has been non‑functional since early June 2026 following a change in agency leadership. The outage forces pharmaceutical companies to revert to in‑person procedures, creating long queues, uncertainty in tracking applications, loss of priority benefits, and concerns over the security of data stored on physical media.
CIFABOL warned that the prolonged reliance on manual processes could disrupt drug production and limit public access to medicines. The association called on the government to guarantee efficient digital services, criticized improvised measures taken so far, and offered to work together with authorities to find effective solutions. "Vemos con preocupación que durante este tiempo se hayan implementado medidas improvisadas que no han sido eficientes..." the statement said.
