Bologna launches mosquito control after dengue case confirmed

Health officials in Bologna confirmed a single dengue infection in the Lame district. In response, the municipal government has activated a prophylactic campaign that includes larvicide and adulticide treatments in public areas such as streets, parks and sidewalks, as well as in private courtyards and condominiums. Residents, building managers and commercial operators are required to grant access to pest‑control teams, eliminate standing water from balconies, terraces and containers, and keep windows closed at night while the disinfestation work takes place.

The operation began on the afternoon of the case detection and will continue through the night of 29 June, with possible delays if rain or strong winds occur.
