Bologna opens new 4‑storey Casa della Comunità for Savena and Santo Stefano

A new Casa della Comunità serving the Savena and Santo Stefano districts was inaugurated in Bologna on Via Faenza. Regional President Michele de Pascale, Regional Health Policy Assessor Massimo Fabi, Mayor Matteo Lepore and AUSL director Anna Maria Petrini attended the ceremony.

The four‑storey complex, covering about 4,000 m², was built over three years with an €11 million investment—€7.4 million from the PNRR, €1.7 million from the Ministry of Finance, €1.6 million from the city and €180 000 from the region, plus €320 000 for biomedical equipment. It offers a general‑practice clinic, a nursing ambulatorium, a 24‑hour access point, a blood‑sampling hub, a CUP, a territorial operations centre, family‑nurse services, a diabetic‑device distribution point and various specialist outpatient services. Planned additions include home‑care nursing, territorial psychology, palliative care, a physiotherapy assessment point and a rehabilitation centre with a gym.

The facility features advanced medical technology such as three ultrasound devices (including a cardiological unit), an electrocardiograph, ECG and blood‑pressure holters, a spirometer and a treadmill for stress testing, alongside sophisticated rehabilitation equipment. It was designed for high comfort, safety, energy‑efficiency and environmental sustainability.
