Bologna rolls out new social‑housing complex and autism care project

The former Clinica Beretta in Bologna’s Via XXI Aprile has been transformed into a solidary condominium offering affordable rental units for 16 families, about 40 residents. The renovation, funded with €1.2 million from the municipality and co‑financed by the Fondazione Carisbo (total investment €3 million), was overseen by the Fondazione Abitare and inaugurated by Mayor Matteo Lepore.

The city council also approved the preliminary design and zoning change for the new autism centre and the semi‑residential “Il Gabbiano” facility, to be built on the former Alberone nursery in Via Gattoni. The project, led by the local health authority, will provide dedicated spaces for people on the autism spectrum and is expected to strengthen the region’s social‑health services.
