Bolsa Família begins October payments with adjusted minimum benefit

Payments for the Bolsa Família program in October 2026 will begin on Monday, October 19, featuring an adjusted minimum benefit. Following a 15.04% increase established by Decree No. 13.120/2026, the minimum payment per family has risen from R$ 600 to R$ 691.

The adjustment, based on the accumulated variation of the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) between March 2023 and August 2026, also updates additional payments for specific demographics. These include R$ 164 per family member, R$ 173 for early childhood, and R$ 58 for the Family Variable Benefit. While the floor is R$ 691, the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance estimates the national average benefit will reach approximately R$ 777 depending on family composition.

Caixa Econômica Federal will execute the deposits according to the last digit of the beneficiary's Social Identification Number (NIS). Payments start with NIS ending in 1 on October 19 and conclude with NIS ending in 0 on October 30. To qualify for the program, monthly family income must not exceed R$ 218 per person, and registration in the Cadastro Único is mandatory.
