Bolsa Família: Caixa releases August payments for 19.3 million families
Caixa Econômica Federal is executing the August payment cycle for the Bolsa Família program, reaching approximately 19.3 million families across Brazil. The average benefit amount for this month is R$ 678.35, with a guaranteed minimum of R$ 600.
Payments are being distributed according to the beneficiaries' Social Identification Number (NIS) endings. The schedule includes payments for NIS endings 5, 6, and 7 throughout the final week of August. Additionally, 186 municipalities across seven states—including Amazonas, Bahia, Paraíba, Paraná, Rio Grande do Norte, Roraima, and Sergipe—received unified, early payments on August 18 due to declared states of emergency or public calamity.
The program includes several variable additions: R$ 50 for mothers of infants up to six months old, R$ 50 for families with pregnant women or children aged 7 to 18, and R$ 150 for families with children up to six years old. A protection rule also remains in effect, allowing families who increase their income through formal employment to continue receiving 50% of their benefit for a set period.
