Bolsa Mexicana de Valores falls as Nvidia boosts Wall Street

The Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV) has experienced a downturn, with the Índice de Precios y Cotizaciones (IPC) falling below the 66,000-point mark. Following a five-session winning streak, the index dropped 0.15% to 66,191.11 points, and later opened with a 0.45% decline to 65,892.73 points.

Significant losses were noted in companies such as Industrias Peñoles (-1.98%), Orbia (-1.97%), GCC (-1.64%), and Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (-1.51%). Conversely, Axtel saw gains of 8%, and José Cuervo rose by 3.36%. The Mexican peso also depreciated slightly against the US dollar.

In contrast to the Mexican market's decline, Wall Street indices showed growth. US markets were bolstered by Nvidia's quarterly report, which exceeded market expectations. Nvidia reported revenues of $96.2 billion and forecasted a 70% revenue growth for fiscal year 2028, driven by continued momentum in artificial intelligence.
