Bolu residents harvest kanlica mushrooms following rainfall

Following recent rainfall in Bolu, Turkey, the emergence of kanlica mushrooms in local forests has created a seasonal economic opportunity for residents. Harvesters are venturing into the woods in the early morning hours to collect the fungi, which are then sold in local markets.

Due to the season being in its early stages, the mushrooms are difficult to find and harvest, leading to high demand. While other varieties such as tellice and kayışkıran mushrooms are also appearing, kanlica remains the most sought-after. Prices at the market currently range between 500 and 600 lira per kilogram.
