Bomb Threat Emails Halt Operations at Gurugram District Court

On July 31, 2026 the District Bar Association of Gurugram received bomb‑threat emails addressed to its official email address and to the offices of the District and Sessions Court and the Mini Secretariat. The threats prompted an immediate evacuation of advocates, court staff, litigants and visitors and the suspension of all scheduled hearings for the day.

Police, bomb‑disposal units, dog squads and other security personnel carried out extensive searches of the court complex, the Mini Secretariat and nearby schools that also received similar emails. The District Bar Association, through secretary Rahul Dhankhar, asked lawyers to cooperate and the presiding judge adjourned the cases. An investigation to trace the source of the emails is ongoing.
