Bonn residential building fire injures three

A major fire broke out in a seven-story residential building in the Tannenbusch district of Bonn, resulting in three injuries. Two young children were hospitalized after inhaling smoke, and a third person sustained injuries while jumping from an upper floor to escape the flames.

The fire spread across the building's rear facade, reaching up to the fifth floor and affecting multiple apartments. Approximately 100 emergency responders were deployed to manage the situation. While 72 people are registered as living in the 28 apartments, many residents managed to evacuate before the fire was brought under control. Several apartments have been rendered uninhabitable, and the city is organizing accommodation for those displaced. Police are currently investigating the cause of the blaze.

In a separate incident in Bonn-Nordstadt, a kitchen fire occurred in a four-story residential dormitory operated by the Caritasverband. Emergency crews responded to heavy smoke in the building, which houses 24 residents. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the kitchen area and prevent smoke from spreading to other parts of the building. All residents were reported uninjured.
