Residential building fires in Bonn
Overview
A major fire occurred in a seven-story residential building in the Tannenbusch district of Bonn, causing three injuries. Two children were hospitalized due to smoke inhalation, and one individual was injured while jumping from an upper floor to escape.
The blaze affected the building’s rear facade up to the fifth floor and damaged multiple apartments. Approximately 100 emergency responders managed the scene. While many residents evacuated, several apartments were rendered uninhabitable, prompting the city to organize accommodation for displaced persons. Police are investigating the cause.
A separate, smaller kitchen fire was contained in a four-story dormitory in Bonn-Nordstadt; no injuries were reported in that instance.
