Border Roads Organisation restores bridge in Arunachal's Huri village

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) rebuilt a 200‑foot Bailey bridge in Huri, a remote border village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Kurung Kumey district, after flash floods on July 11 washed away the previous structure. The bridge had cut off movement of people, essential goods and emergency services, prompting a rapid “mission mode” response under Project Arunank.

Teams from the 85 Road Construction Company and the 756 Border Roads Task Force worked round‑the‑clock despite heavy rain, fast‑flowing rivers, unstable soil and landslides. In addition to installing the new bridge, they cleared mudslides, repaired damaged road sections and strengthened approach roads, restoring a critical lifeline for civilians and for strategic mobility near the Line of Actual Control.
