Boris Mijič faces potential expulsion from Resnica party

The Resnica political party is deliberating disciplinary measures against MP Boris Mijič following revelations of financial misconduct and academic misrepresentation. Mijič reportedly owes tens of thousands of euros to workers and the state due to liquidity issues at his company, Progros. Investigations by the Labor Inspectorate and the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption have highlighted irregularities within the firm. Furthermore, Mijič allegedly transferred the insolvent company to Rok Snežič, who subsequently rebranded it as Klukec, a business registered for camel breeding.

In addition to financial controversies, Mijič is accused of falsifying his educational background. While he claimed to be a graduate civil engineer to the State Election Commission, the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy at the University of Ljubljana stated that he is “not registered as a graduate.”

Zoran Stevanović, president of Resnica, has announced he will propose the strictest possible measures, including Mijič’s expulsion from the party. The party's leadership is expected to reach a decision following a recent session, with the timing of any potential resignation being critical to whether his parliamentary mandate would automatically pass to the next candidate.
