Borja Iglesias defends Héctor Bellerín against homophobic attacks

Footballer Borja Iglesias has publicly defended Héctor Bellerín following homophobic and derogatory comments made by content creator and journalist Iñaki Angulo. The controversy arose after a match between Real Betis and Real Madrid.

In a video discussing the match, Angulo targeted Bellerín, using offensive language regarding his personal appearance, political views, and sexual identity. Angulo referred to the player using derogatory terms and gender-neutral pronouns in a mocking manner, stating, “'Elle' ha parado a Vinicius solo.”

Responding to the remarks on social media, Iglesias, who plays for Celta Vigo and is a close friend of Bellerín, described the comments as “a barbarity and a shame.” He criticized the nature of the remarks, noting that while he was unfamiliar with the creator, such behavior appeared to be a recurring issue.
