Borja Sémper criticizes PNV alignment with Pedro Sánchez

Borja Sémper, the national spokesperson for the People's Party (PP), has criticized the Basque Nationalist Party (PNV) and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez regarding the current political landscape and the timing of future elections.

Sémper stated that the PP no longer seeks dialogue with the PNV, claiming the party has tied its future to Pedro Sánchez. He argued that the PNV's alignment with the current government provides no political or social benefits for the Basque Country and instead benefits the EH Bildu party. Sémper suggested the PNV is acting out of fear due to its pacts with the PSE-EE and electoral competition.

Regarding the national political situation, Sémper asserted that the current legislature has effectively ended. He claimed that the timing of the next general elections depends entirely on the partisan interests and calculations of Pedro Sánchez rather than the interests of Spain. He criticized the government's handling of crises, suggesting that the administration tends to deflect blame onto international actors when domestic issues arise.
