Bornholm municipality addresses local planning and infrastructure issues
Bornholms Regionskommune is addressing two separate local infrastructure and planning matters. In Sandvig, an error in the local plan for the area near Langebjergvej and Bisselinevej has been discovered. The current plan contains subdivision rules that conflict with building laws, prompting the municipality to seek legal assistance and propose amendments. The proposed changes aim to allow plots for semi-detached houses to be smaller than the current 700 square meter minimum, while attempting to maintain existing building densities and heights.
In Rønne, the municipality has determined that a new bicycle path project along Søndre Ringvej will not require a formal environmental impact assessment. The project aims to improve safety and connectivity for commuters and tourists by creating two-way paths on two sections. While the project requires a dispensation from the Forest Act due to tree removal in a protected forest, the municipality maintains that there will be no significant impact on Natura 2000 areas, protected species, or groundwater.
