Bornholm residents face rising costs through increased user fees
In Bornholm, while municipal tax rates are set to remain stable for the coming year, residents and businesses face rising costs through increased user fees. A significant political decision has led to a 17.4 percent increase in after-school care (SFO) costs, raising monthly fees from 1,776 kr. to 2,085 kr.
Businesses are also facing new expenses, such as a 2,156 kr. fee for permits to use municipal road areas for commercial purposes, including outdoor dining or food trucks. While technically classified as user fees rather than taxes, these charges function as a method to balance the municipal budget by shifting costs from the general tax fund directly to the users of specific services.
