Borno State Governor commissions N15.9bn flyover and schools in Maiduguri
Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has commissioned several major infrastructure projects in Maiduguri, including a N15.9 billion nine-span flyover in the Post Office area. Completed in 11 months by Chinese contractor Eighteenth Engineering Company, the flyover is intended to ease traffic congestion, improve road safety, and facilitate the movement of goods and people.
In addition to the flyover, the governor inaugurated a 2.5 km dualized road and a 5 km drainage network from Budum Junction via Kasuwan Shanu to the NIETAL shoe factory express road, a project costing approximately N5 billion. The administration also commissioned two educational facilities: Larawaram Community Senior Secondary School and Shehu Sanda Kyarimi 1 Primary and Junior Day Secondary School.
The commissioning ceremony featured Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule as the special guest of honour, who commended the Borno administration for its commitment to infrastructure and education despite ongoing security challenges in the region.
