Bornova Municipality signs climate partnership with Social Climate Association

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki and Gaye Tuğrulöz, president of the Social Climate Association, signed a cooperation protocol to launch joint projects on climate mitigation, environmental rights and sustainable urban development. The agreement aims to cut carbon emissions, strengthen community resilience and involve young people in decision‑making as Turkey prepares to host COP31.

Under the protocol the partners will apply for national and international grants, organise workshops, seminars and awareness campaigns, and coordinate research, monitoring and reporting activities. Both sides emphasised that the initiative will showcase local action on the global stage and support Turkey’s climate‑policy agenda.
