Bornova, Turkey Fire Controlled in Homeros Valley

A forest fire broke out in the Homeros Valley area of Bornova, a district of İzmir, Turkey. Municipal fire crews, the Forest Regional Directorate, and aerial units responded quickly. The operation involved two firefighting aircraft, four helicopters, sixteen water bombers, six water‑supply vehicles, one dozer, and ground teams using YOMA vehicles and machinery. Mayor Ömer Eşki said all public agencies worked side‑by‑side from the first alert, and the blaze was brought under control. Cooling work continues in the area to prevent any re‑ignition.

The coordinated effort highlights the municipality’s readiness to protect natural areas and the effectiveness of joint emergency response between local and regional authorities.
