Borsa Istanbul posts mixed July results amid capital boosts and digital gold rules
The BIST 100 index closed the week down 3.48% at 13,458.10 points, after swinging between a low of 13,216.16 and a high of 14,085.39. Technology stocks led the declines, while banking and holding sectors posted gains; the information technology index fell 7.15% while the banking index rose 2.89%.
Twelve listed companies announced free‑capital increases in July, the most notable being Kordsa Teknik Tekstil, which raised its capital by 1,799.9% to about 3.7 billion TL. Other large moves came from Armada Gıda, Oncosem, Baydöner, Durukan Şekerleme and Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji. Six major firms – CWENE, TBORG, TGSAS, TEHOL, TRALT and BEGYO – also disclosed cash dividend payments with payout dates ranging from late August to early October.
A new regulation published in the Official Gazette permits unprocessed gold and silver to be tokenised on a blockchain platform and traded on Borsa Istanbul, aiming to curb off‑exchange trading and improve market transparency. Analysts also highlighted technical levels for the BIST 30 futures contract on VİOP and outlined two scenarios for the BIST 100, with support expected around 12,400‑12,500 points if the downtrend continues.
