Borsa İstanbul reports shifting valuations and regulatory changes

Borsa İstanbul is experiencing significant shifts in market dynamics, including notable changes in company valuations and trading regulations. Hedef Holding has emerged as a major player, reaching a market capitalization of over 800 billion TL—surpassing the combined value of Koç Holding and Sabancı Holding—despite having only 19 employees. Other companies like Destek Faktoring and Özata Denizcilik have also seen massive valuation increases.

In terms of regulatory updates, the Volatility Based Measure System (VBTS) has seen restrictions lifted for five stocks, including Borlease Otomotiv, Koray Gayrimenkul, Marka Yatırım Holding, Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik, and Safkar Ege Soğutmacılık. These companies have returned to normal trading procedures following the end of short-selling and credit transaction bans.

Additionally, the August 2026 dividend calendar has been finalized for eight companies. Notable upcoming payments include Kolesiyon Mobilya and Platform Turizm on August 19, with Türkiye Sigorta scheduled to pay on August 31. Meanwhile, the BIST 100 index recently closed down at 13,704.52 points, influenced by global geopolitical tensions and upcoming economic data from the US and Germany.
