Borsa Istanbul stock trading restrictions

Borsa Istanbul has implemented various supervisory measures under its Monitoring Measures Directive and Volatility Based Measures System (VBMS) to curb market volatility and protect integrity.

In early August 2026, the exchange imposed one-month trading restrictions on Işıklar Enerji ve Yapı Holding (IEYHO), CW Enerji (CWENE), and Hedef Holding (HEDEF). These measures included bans on margin trading, gross settlement, and short-selling.

By August 10, 2026, the exchange lifted restrictions for Borlease Otomotiv A.Ş. (BORLS), Koray Gayrimenkul Yatırım Ortaklığı A.Ş. (KGYO), Marka Yatırım Holding A.Ş. (MARKA), Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik Dış Ticaret A.Ş. (PASEU), and Safkar Ege Soğutmacılık A.Ş. (SAFKR), allowing them to return to normal trading procedures following the end of short-selling and credit transaction bans.

During this period, Borsa Istanbul reported significant shifts in market dynamics. Hedef Holding reached a market capitalization exceeding 800 billion TL, a valuation that reportedly surpassed the combined value of Koç Holding and Sabancı Holding. Other companies, including Destek Faktoring and Özata Denizcilik, also experienced massive valuation increases. Additionally, the August 2026 dividend calendar was finalized, with upcoming payments scheduled for companies such as Kolesiyon Mobilya, Platform Turizm, and Türkiye Sigorta.
