M1 Híradó editor and presenter appointments withdrawn after PM comment

The public broadcaster announced that Hajdú Gábor would become editor-in-chief of M1 Híradó and Borsa Miklós would return as a presenter when the news programme relaunches in the second half of August. Within a day, the Duna Media Service issued a notice cancelling both appointments. The reversal followed a comment by Prime Minister Magyar Péter on Facebook, where he wrote “nem hinném…”. The broadcaster said the decision was needed to restore public trust in the renewed public media service.
