A planned appointment of Hajdú Gábor as editor-in-chief of M1 Híradó and presenter Borsa Miklós was withdrawn by the Duna Media Service following a Facebook comment by Prime Minister Péter Magyar. The broadcaster stated the reversal was necessary to restore public confidence in the renewed service.

The broader media shift has also impacted private outlets. Mediaworks, a conservative media group, announced 200 layoffs following the loss of state advertising revenue, while several regional newspapers have ceased print publication or transitioned to weekly formats.
