Borussia Dortmund wins 3-0 against Paderborn to maintain perfect start
Borussia Dortmund maintained a perfect start to the Bundesliga season with a 3-0 victory over newly promoted SC Paderborn 07. The win moves Dortmund to nine points from three matches, placing them in a tie for the league lead with Freiburg.
Fabio Silva opened the scoring in the fifth minute, capitalizing on a pass from Serhou Guirassy. Although Guirassy had two subsequent goals disallowed for offside, Dortmund controlled much of the match. Substitute Felix Nmecha secured the win with two late goals, including a spectacular bicycle kick in the 89th minute.
In other Bundesliga action, Freiburg rose to the top of the table following a 5-0 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Augsburg drew 2-2 with Bayer Leverkusen, while Hoffenheim defeated Stuttgart 2-1.
Dortmund coach Niko Kovac noted that the team initially struggled to find their rhythm following their midweek Champions League fixture, but praised the impact of his substitutes.
